Forces from the 7th Brigade Combat Team and the Yahalam unit destroyed two underground tunnels belonging to the Hezbollah terrorist organization, with a total length of about 2 kilometers, in the Qantara area in southern Lebanon - about 10 kilometers from the border, this evening (Tuesday), using more than 450 tons of explosives.

More than 30 living and organizing rooms were located in the tunnels, along with 30 operational shafts.

One of the tunnels was recently used by terrorists from the "Radwan Force" unit to promote terrorist plots against the State of Israel and its citizens, thereby posing a direct threat to the citizens of the State of Israel and IDF forces.

IDF forces carried out an attack on the Qantara area and, following accurate intelligence information, located the two tunnels. The tunnels that were located are part of a network of underground infrastructure that was exposed in Operation Northern Arrows and destroyed in the Rab a-Talathin and Mays al-Jabal areas.

The forces located numerous weapons, living and organizing rooms, water tanks, and a lot of equipment for an extended stay in the tunnels.

The tunnels were used by Hezbollah terrorists for lodging only, with about 10 sleeping rooms, including beds, being found in one of the tunnels that were used by the organization's terrorists.

Shafts were discovered inside the tunnels that connect to positions with launchers aimed at the country's territory.

In addition, numerous weapons and advanced military equipment were seized inside the tunnels. After scanning the tunnels and collecting intelligence, Yahyalam fighters destroyed the tunnels in a way that would not allow for their reconstruction.

"Hezbollah's "cities of refuge" were built over a decade, dozens of meters underground, funded by the Iranian terrorist regime and as part of Hezbollah's plan to conquer the Galilee.

The commander of the 36th Division, Brigadier General Yiftach Norkin, said, "We carried out an attack deep inside Lebanese territory and located very significant underground infrastructure dozens of meters deep and spread over many hundreds of meters. We are determined to remove the threat from the residents of the north.".
