Foreign Minister Gideon Sa'ar met in Jerusalem with the UN envoy to Lebanon, Jeanine Hennis-Plasschaert.
Sa'ar told the UN envoy that Hezbollah joined the fighting against Israel about two months ago under pressure from the Iranian regime. Since then, Hezbollah has launched about 10,000 missiles, rockets, and drones at Israel, some of them near UNIFIL positions.
Sa'ar emphasized that the State of Israel recognizes a worrying pattern in which the terrorist organization places military assets in close proximity to UNIFIL forces, exploits their presence for hostile activity, and even uses vehicles with similar appearances to transport operatives, and that UNIFIL must act against these patterns of action.
