In the Second Lebanon War, during a battle in Bint Jbeil, a hand grenade was thrown at the force commanded by Major Roy Klein. Klein jumped on the grenade, stopped the explosion with his body, and was killed. In his act, he saved the lives of the other soldiers who were nearby.
His soldiers said that while he was dying from his wounds, he reported his death over the radio, shouted "Shema Yisrael" and gave Captain Itamar Katz, who took command of the force, the encrypted radio he had in his possession.
Following his actions, he was awarded the Medal of Courage.
Today, IDF fighters blew up the house where Major Roy Klein was killed for the sake of God.
