Vladimir Gershovich, 73, his wife Lena Ostrovsky, 68, their son Dima Gershovich, 42, and his wife Lucille Jane, 29, are the four who were killed in the missile strike in Haifa last night.
The four were rescued lifeless after being trapped under the rubble.
Dima, who lived in Herzliya, was the only son of Vladimir and Lena. He and his wife, Lucille Jane, a citizen of the Philippines, were married in April 2024.
Lena Ostrovsky was a voice development teacher at the Nissan Nativ acting studio in Jerusalem.
The family said: "A family of loving people with hearts of gold. They were always kind and pleasant to everyone they met, loved life, loved culture and loved traveling. They left a mark of light everywhere they went and with everyone they met. We will miss them greatly.".
Shaham, the Actors' Organization in Israel, said: "We are deeply saddened by the tragic death of Lena, a veteran and legendary voice development teacher at the Nissan Nativ Acting Studio in Jerusalem, who was killed along with her family in the missile strike in Haifa. For three decades, Lena nurtured generations of actors and actresses with dedication, professionalism, and above all, great love for the profession and her students. We send our sincere condolences to her family, colleagues, the studio community, and all the students, graduates, and alumni who were privileged to learn from her.".
According to estimates, the four did not have time to enter the building's shelter. The Home Front Command said that the place where they were located was at the bottom of the building, near a stairwell, and it took time to uncover and clear the rubble before they reached them.
