Major Boaz Tamam, commander of the 9th Battalion, husband of fashion designer and web designer Shoshi Tamam, was seriously injured in combat in Lebanon - an injury that led to the amputation of his leg.

Despite his complex medical condition, Tamam chose to send a message of strength and encouragement to the fighters of Rabbi Avraham Zerbib's 'Reich Force', with whom he fought shoulder to shoulder.

Tamam said: "I had the privilege of fighting with you and I am glad that you continue to fight and I love you and I am proud of you.".

He urged his friends not to stop: "Don't give up and keep going until all of Lebanon is flattened like you did in Gaza. You are the best we have and I love you.".

He updated his condition: "I'm perfectly fine, there's nothing to worry about, it's just a leg and I know you and each of you would give a leg for your country - I was privileged to be the one who gave. Keep giving, I love you.".
