The miracle last night in Arad: On the second floor of a residential building near the scene of the Iranian missile strike, lived the Aldin family, Chabad Hasidim.
The mother of the family, whose husband is currently serving in the reserves, was in the room that was hit with 5 small children, the oldest of whom is 8 years old. But the family members went down to the shelter when the alarm sounded - and thus their lives were saved.
Journalist Mandy Rizal, who serves as the desk commander for the Haredi sector in the Southern District of the Home Front Command, was present at the scene as part of his duties, and documented the building from the outside: in the photo, you can see its second floor, destroyed and ruined. The photo also shows the shelter located on the lower floor of the building.
Rizal: "The shelter survived well the explosion of the missile with a warhead weighing hundreds of kilograms that hit about five meters away from it.".
Pnina Aldin, whose house was destroyed, said in an interview with Kol Berama: "We heard an explosion, and then it became dark. It was a miracle, both of our rooms in the apartment were damaged, there was a lot of destruction. We had already planned an evacuation and construction, maybe now it will happen. We can't even go in to see the destruction in the apartment. The injured are those who weren't in the shelters.".

Arad Mayor Yair Maayan described the scene of the crash: "The missile landed in the center of a garden surrounded by eight buildings. Visually, it looked very difficult because of the extensive destruction, but thank God the buildings themselves did not collapse. It could have ended in a much more serious disaster.".
In an interview, he emphasized the critical importance of complying with Home Front Command guidelines: "Unfortunately, at least 75 people who did not protect themselves were injured. It is possible that what led to this was that there were alerts throughout the day that ended up not sounding alarms, and therefore people were lazy, which is a great shame. I can say with complete confidence - there were no injuries among those who entered the protected area.".
