During a speech he delivered today (Wednesday) in the Knesset plenum, Tourism Minister Haim Katz made an extraordinary statement that left those present with a question mark over the interpretation of the words.

Katz hinted at a new operational capability that is in the development stages, which may eliminate the need for alarms before missile launches.

In the midst of a speech in the plenary, Katz said: "I don't know if I can say, I believe we are moving towards a solution where we won't need an alarm before launch.".

Immediately afterwards, the minister seemed to realize that he might have revealed a sensitive security matter, and added: "I don't know if I said too much, but I said...""

Minister Katz also serves as Minister of Construction and Housing, Health and Welfare, and Social Security.
