Chief of Staff, Major General Eyal Zamir, visited the Northern Command today (Monday) along with the Commander of the Northern Command, Major General Rafi Milo, and other commanders.
As part of the visit, the Chief of Staff visited the forces in the field, conducted a situation assessment, approved plans for the future, and held discussions with the commanders of the divisions operating in the Northern Command.
Zamir: "Iran is the main arena, weakening the regime and its capabilities will weaken the entire radical axis and in the process the terrorist organization Hezbollah. The campaign against Hezbollah is another central front. Any damage to the military buildup capabilities of Iran and the Revolutionary Guards also harms Hezbollah's armament and financing capabilities. The impact of harming and weakening the radical regime in Iran is also felt in the campaign against Hezbollah.
""In the past two weeks, we have launched a targeted ground operation in southern Lebanon with the aim of removing the threat from the border and ensuring long-term security for the residents of the north.
""The Northern Command is waging a determined campaign against Hezbollah, in which more than 400 terrorists have been eliminated so far, including senior members of the organization. We are determined to deepen the operation until all of our goals are achieved. At the same time, we are strengthening defense and augmenting the Northern Command with additional forces. Hezbollah is currently in a war of survival for its very existence; it is paying a heavy price for entering the campaign - and the pressure on it will only increase.".
""In the past week, the forces in the Northern Command have been acting with determination and strength - much appreciated for that. Now we must focus on eliminating the threats, strengthening the defense of the communities, and further intensifying the attack on Hezbollah.".
