In light of the security situation in the Middle East: Aviation giant Lufthansa announced today (Monday) that it will extend the suspension of its flights to and from Israel until April 2 - the first Yom Tov of Passover.
The group, which includes the airlines Lufthansa, SWISS, Austrian Airlines, Brussels Airlines and Eurowings, said it "regrets the inconvenience caused to its customers, continues to closely monitor developments in the region and is in close contact with the authorities.".
According to a statement from the group's spokeswoman, passengers affected by the cancellations will be given the option to cancel their flight tickets free of charge or to rebook.
Currently, only Israeli airlines operate flights departing from and entering Israel, in accordance with the Ministry of Transportation's outline.
