A senior Israeli official said this evening (Saturday night) that Iran's Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, was killed today in an Israeli-American strike as part of Operation Roaring Harrier.

The American president also appealed to the Iranian people to rise up against the regime and help overthrow it: "This is the greatest opportunity for the Iranian people to take back their country. We are hearing that many of their Revolutionary Guards, military, security forces, and police no longer want to fight, and are seeking immunity from us. As I said last night, 'Now they can get immunity, then they only get death!' I hope that the Revolutionary Guards and police will peacefully merge with the Iranian patriots, and work together as a unit to restore the country to its rightful greatness.".
Trump added: "This process should begin soon, as not only is Khamenei dead, but the country has been severely damaged and even destroyed in just one day. The heavy and precise bombing, however, will continue uninterrupted throughout the week, or as long as it takes to achieve our goal of peace throughout the Middle East, and indeed, throughout the world!".
Khamenei, who had been the most powerful figure in the Shiite axis since 1989, was assassinated at the age of 86 in a combined surprise attack by the Israeli and United States air forces.
According to the source, Khamenei's body was found in the compound that was bombed in the opening strike.
Earlier, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said in a special statement, "This war will bring true peace." He added that Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei's compound in the heart of Tehran had been destroyed, and that "there are many signs that the dictator is also gone.".
Israel estimates that the commander of the Iranian Revolutionary Guards, General Mohammad Fakhpour, was also killed in the strikes this morning with the launch of Operation "Raging Hari."
