Dutch airline giant KLM announced this evening (Wednesday) that it will suspend its flights on the Amsterdam-Tel Aviv route starting this Sunday - March 1.
This, according to the company, is because flights to Tel Aviv "are not commercially and operationally feasible.".
The company announced that passengers affected by the decision will receive a personal notification and will be offered options to change the flight date or receive a refund.
""KLM will continue to monitor developments and will reassess the decision depending on the circumstances," it said.
This is the first airline to cancel its flights to Israel in the shadow of tensions between the United States and Iran and the fear of an Iranian attack against Israel.
Tensions in the Middle East are at their peak, and fateful talks are expected to take place tomorrow that many believe will decide whether the region heads for military escalation or diplomatic agreements.
