MK David Bitan, one of the leaders of the rebellion in the Likud party that worked to overturn Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich's VAT order, addressed the storm in the coalition on the Be'er Sheva channel today (Wednesday) - and harshly criticized his coalition partners and the party.

""Smotrich probably thinks he's Trump, so that's not the case. He doesn't have unlimited powers. For three and a half years he didn't do anything about the cost of living issue and now suddenly two or three months before the election he's going on this ticket," Bitan attacked.

According to him, "This order harms small businesses. It should have been repealed, it had no place. Small businesses are the engine of workers in the State of Israel.".

Bitan added that he and his partners will also work to cancel the new order of the Minister of Finance, which increased the tax exemption on personal imports to up to $130.

""He is not God," said the 'rebel' MK. "He should have respected the Knesset's decision. I don't believe Smotrich's threats to dissolve the government. For a month here or there in the elections, the prime minister should not surrender to him.".

Bitan also addressed the comments of Communications Minister Shlomo Kari, who said last night that he was "the headache of the Likud" - and claimed that he was acting contrary to the interests of the right.

""The real headache for the Likud is actually the Minister of Communications who came to us from Shas and is actually not a true Likudnik.".

In the context of the conflict between the two over Kerei's media law, Bitan emphasized: "Overall, I said that the law he is bringing will harm the right-wing media. It allows for the establishment of as many channels as possible, all of which compete for the advertising market. The weak will be harmed. If this law passes and the government changes, they will use it to close Channel 14. He came with the arguments of the Kohelet Forum that dictate the law to him, and with all due respect, they were not elected to the Likud.".
