Al-Arabiya reported that Hezbollah is preparing for a possible war against Israel, amid the assessment that Iran is pressuring Hezbollah to join - should a campaign against it be launched.
According to the report, the organization's leadership has recently increased the frequency of military and security meetings in order to prepare plans for an expected war.
Sources who spoke to the Saudi network claimed that the airstrikes yesterday in the Lebanon Valley, deep in the country, were a 'prelude' to an Israeli military operation, which appears to be carried out simultaneously with the attacks in Iran.
The report cited sources close to Hezbollah, who told Al-Arabiya and the Saudi Al-Hadath channel that Hezbollah is not currently run by Lebanese leaders, but by officers of Iran's Revolutionary Guards - some of whom have already been in Lebanon.
According to the sources, Iranian Revolutionary Guard officers are not only responsible for restoring the capabilities of ally Hezbollah, but are also personally overseeing the plans and meeting with Hezbollah teams in various regions to convey instructions.
According to the report, the same Iranian officers also met with members of the missile unit that was attacked yesterday in the Al-Baqa'a region.
Those close to the organization also said that they believe that an Israeli attack against Hezbollah is "a matter of time.".
Last night, IDF strikes in the Baalbek area in Lebanon killed ten terrorists, eight of them from Hezbollah and two from Hamas.
The IDF spokesman's statement said that Hezbollah terrorists were eliminated in strikes against three different headquarters of the organization and that those eliminated were part of its missile array.
""The terrorists were identified as recently working to accelerate readiness and reinforcement processes, while planning to fire at the State of Israel and promoting terrorist plots that endanger IDF forces and the citizens of the State of Israel," it was reported.
The IDF spokesman also stated that Hezbollah's missile system "is responsible for firing missiles and rockets at Israel and is currently working to plan firing into our territory. The terrorists' activities constituted a violation of the understandings between Israel and Lebanon.".
