Maran HaGard Lando sent a special personal letter today (Tuesday) to the "Torah prisoner of peace," Rabbi Avraham Ben Dayan.

And this is the language of the letter:

""In the company"
To the dear Rabbi Avraham Ben Dayan, may God bless him.

I was deeply saddened by the disturbing news about the soul-shaking injustice that was done to you, that I would spend my time in prison "for the sin" of studying Torah, Rabbi.

And I will strengthen you and your family, and they will live, for we did not intend this action against you, but rather against all the children of the Torah, who are and their learning is trivial in their eyes, and it is evil and distressing for them when they see the blessed development of the world of the Torah, and you have been granted the privilege of being the representative of the students of the Torah in order to harm them in their schemes.

We hope to God that you will be granted release soon and return to your studies, sanctify the name of God in all your ways and deeds, and dwell in the tabernacle of Torah as before.

I ask for your peace and the peace of your Torah.

Light of the 23rd of Shevat 5776"

Rabbi Lando will arrive tomorrow for a special "Kiddush Ha-Ha" ceremony at the Maor Talmud Yeshiva in Rehovot, due to the arrest of a yeshiva student.

The 23-year-old Havrach, a graduate of the Maor Talmud yeshiva, got married about four months ago and lives in Netivot. He was detained for examination at a traffic police checkpoint near Moshav Tifrah. When it turned out that he was registered as a deserter from the IDF, he was handed over to the military police.

His wife, Esti Ben David, told Kol Berama about the arrest and the abuse: "My husband was traveling with his mother, police officers stopped them for a routine check, and the policewoman told them that he came with them to the Yemeni airport.

""I went there, no one knew what to say to me. They told me he was on his way to Ofakim, and then a soldier called me and told me he was in the city of the battalion commanders. They lied to us all night. They took him and wouldn't let me talk to him.".

She added painfully: "They ran us from place to place all night, as if it were a terrorist. I always heard from afar about arrests. My husband received two warrants in total. He studies Torah day and night, I have a brother who studies all day.".
