El Al has informed its customers of a ban on the use of portable chargers during the flight.
In doing so, it joins the global standard, and aligns with many airlines around the world.
The reason for the new restriction: cases where the charge ignited.

The company's message to customers states: "It is strictly forbidden to use the portable charger during the flight, and it is also forbidden to charge it using the electrical outlets on the plane. Portable chargers with a capacity exceeding 100Wh are not approved for flight.".
El Al decided to add another restriction related to portable chargers: Each customer will be able to take on a flight with only one portable charger, its capacity must be up to 100Wh.
Additionally, if the luggage does not have a clear marking of the Wh rating, it will not be possible to approve its boarding.
The guidelines are consistent with the recommendations of international aviation authorities.
