The chairman of the Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee, MK Boaz Bismuth, will hold a reprimanding call with MK Ram Ben Barak tomorrow (Tuesday), following his decision to remove MK Mish Atid from his membership in the Intelligence Subcommittee, one of the most sensitive and prestigious committees in the Knesset.

In the background: What was defined as the break-in by Yesh Atid members into Bismuth's office last week, an event that Bismuth defined as crossing a 'red line' and as a serious violation of the committee's conduct and security work rules.

While MK Bismuth was sitting in his office for a meeting with ultra-Orthodox MKs to discuss the draft law, Yesh Atid members took advantage of the fact that Ben Barak had kept the 'key' card to the office, from the days when Ben Barak himself served as the committee chairman, and stormed into the office.

According to the Bismuth Bureau, in recent days Ben Barak has approached Bismuth through emissaries and also directly, requesting that the decision be reversed and the dismissal avoided, but was denied.

Bismuth made it clear that he would be willing to consider reversing the decision only subject to a clear apology for the events.

The reprimand conversation is expected to take place through the mediation of the legal advisor to the Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee, Attorney Miri Frankel-Shor.

Bismuth's office stated that, as of now, the decision to dismiss remains in effect, and after the conversation, MK Bismuth will consider the matter and make the final decision.

MK Bismuth contacted the Knesset officer to report and complain about the 'hack' - and the Yesh Atid faction laughed: "Likud's reactions are becoming more whiny and hysterical than ever.".

MK Bismuth responded: "The same elements who warned against 'the right wing taking over the Knesset' are the ones who are today behaving in a bullying, vulgar manner, and attempting to turn a sovereign institution into a no-man's land, including serious attempts to illegally photocopy documents in the committee. The serious incident will be handled with full seriousness, including filing a complaint with the Ethics Committee and examining all possible sanctions and penalties.".
