Minister of the Negev, the Galilee and National Resilience, Yitzhak Wasserlauf, came to the "Patriots" studio on Channel 14 last night (Thursday) and spoke about the harassment and attacks his family has been going through over the past three years.

Wasserlauf expressed shock at what he called the "hypocrisy" of protesters and left-wing Knesset members who are demanding that he condemn the blocking of former Supreme Court President Aharon Barak's car, while ignoring the systematic harm to his family and children.

The minister spoke about the confrontation that took place in the Knesset plenum with MK Naama Lazimi. "She comes to me, the one who burned down the Ayalon and blocked roads, and says to me, 'Condemn what they did to Aharon Barak.' I said to her - are you preaching to me? For three years my family has been suffering every day. I suggested to her that we play together what happened three years ago, and she called me a populist and got off the podium.".

Wasserlauf revealed a serious incident that happened to his wife just four days after the outbreak of the war, while he was in the south of the country on duty.

""My wife returned home to Tel Aviv with the children, alone. They poured a bucket of water on her, she got all wet," the minister said. According to him, this humiliation was not the end: "During the alarms, the neighbor upstairs shouted at her not to dare go near their shelter. My little children hear it.".

The minister added that despite denials from left-wing elements, the incident is documented.

During the interview, the minister addressed claims that were circulated online as if he had lied about an incident in which he was blocked on his way to the hospital with his late father, who had suffered a heart attack.

Wasserlauf presented a video from his car in the studio that was filmed the night of Gallant's dismissal ("Gallant Night"). In the footage, the minister and his men are heard pleading with the police to allow passage on the grounds of "pikuach nefesh," while a crowd of protesters piles onto the car and blocks the road.

""My father called me saying he had a heart attack, I went to him and took him to the hospital," Wasserlauf recalled. "The protesters attacked the car because they knew there was a minister inside. In the end, the police had to throw them out so we could get through.".

The minister went on to describe how, even inside the emergency room, a protester recognized him and began yelling at him and his sick father while he was connected to an IV. "My father couldn't help but respond to him, until security took him away. Did anyone condemn this? Is this anyone's business?" he wondered painfully.

The minister sharply criticized the conduct of the law enforcement system and the legal advisor to the government, Gali Baharav-Miara. "There is no symmetry because they have their backs," he claimed. "The attorney general is defending them. I filed a petition with data on 292 detainees and I proved selective enforcement compared to what is being done to the ultra-Orthodox, Ethiopians, and right-wingers.".

Wasserlauf said that although he objects to the protest against Aharon Barak ("I don't like seeing these sights"), he is not willing to accept the double standard. "I'm a public figure, I've developed an elephant's skin, but a family? Children? My daughter is shaking with fear on the way to school, my three-year-old son asks me, 'Dad, what is a terrorist?' because they shouted it to him from the window. They come to sleep in our bed because they are so traumatized.".
