United States President Donald Trump confirmed today (Saturday) that the Memorandum of Understanding agreement between Iran and the United States will be signed digitally tomorrow.
Trump also made it clear that the Iranian nuclear program will be diluted and destroyed in "Iran or the United States," so he is not committing to the enriched uranium leaving Iranian territory.
Trump wrote: "Barack Hussein Obama's agreement with Iran, the JCPOA, was an easy, nice, smooth path to nuclear weapons, weapons that Iran would have obtained six years ago, and used long before today. My agreement with Iran is the complete opposite, a wall against nuclear weapons.".
""In fact, they no longer want nuclear weapons, nor will they possess them, neither through acquisition, nor through development, nor by any other means of obtaining them.".
""The agreement is expected to be signed tomorrow, and immediately after it is signed, the Strait of Hormuz will be open to everyone. Our relations with Iran are different and much better than those of previous administrations.".
""Unlike the hundreds of billions of dollars that Obama transferred to them, including $1.7 billion in cash, in greenbacks and hard currency, no money will be transferred under this agreement.".
""At the appropriate time, when everything is calm, we will go in and bring out the nuclear dust, buried deep under huge granite mountains sunk into the ground, thanks to our wonderful B-2 bombers and their brilliant pilots, and dilute and destroy it, whether in Iran or in the United States.
We look forward to working with Iran and the entire Middle East for many years to come. I hope this process ends quickly, easily, and smoothly. If not, we have the ultimate alternative, and I hope it will never need to be used again.
Thank you for your attention to this issue!!!""
According to senior administration officials, the more Iran works to freeze its nuclear program, close its reactors, and dilute its enriched uranium, the more it will receive relief from sanctions and the unfreezing of funds.
The Iranians, on the other hand, view the agreement differently. They claim that the entire nuclear issue belongs to future negotiations and not to the memorandum of understanding that will be signed. Tehran has also not given up, at least not in principle, on its demand to collect money from ships passing through the Strait of Hormuz, although this step will not necessarily happen immediately.
According to political commentator Amit Segach, at the heart of the controversy now: What does the US-Iran agreement mean for Lebanon?
The Iranians are demanding a complete withdrawal, which of course will not happen. There are the five IDF outposts in Lebanon that were there on the day Operation Hari began. The IDF advanced to the Yellow Line in the April ceasefire - and has since advanced significantly further.
Israel refuses any withdrawal, the US would like a withdrawal to the Yellow Line - Israel refuses.
