Amit Segal, the senior political commentator for News 12, commented in a video he published today (Thursday) on the blocking of the vehicle of retired Supreme Court President Aharon Barak, and the condemnations that came from the left side of the political map.
According to him, this is a serious phenomenon - but also hypocrisy and selective condemnations.
""I really want to condemn again the despicable phenomenon of blocking people, and it doesn't matter if it's Aharon Barak, an 89-year-old Holocaust survivor," Segal said.
However, immediately afterwards he launched a sharp criticism: "I also want to congratulate with excitement the people who discovered only last night how shocking it is when roads are blocked. I want to congratulate the law enforcement institutions that are now considering an investigation for the first time against those who blocked roads after three long years in which no one was prosecuted.".
Segal added and asked: "Where were you during the criminal attack on the right-wing research institute Kohelet? Where were you when they laid siege to Sara Netanyahu's barbershop? Where were you when they threw trash cans at the Justice Minister's car? Where were you when they blocked the roads of private individuals, in the case of right-wing journalists in Neve Ilan for months?""
The commentator continued: "I'm mainly looking to the future, where will you be the next time this happens, when your own people do these things against people you disagree with? Will you still be shocked then? Will you still call for an investigation then? Or are you actually in favor of all these phenomena when they are against political opponents, but last night you discovered that there is such a thing as a boomerang.".
