
Tragedy on the way to Miron: A 34-year-old man was killed today (Friday) in a fatal car accident between a private car and a bus on Highway 89, near the Meron Intersection.
After rescue operations by rescue forces, medics and paramedics determined the death of the driver of the private vehicle, who was trapped in his vehicle.
""We arrived at the scene of a complex accident between a bus and a private car. The force of the collision sent the vehicle flying into a ditch," described Major General Roy Finish.
Subsequently, operations were carried out to rescue the driver of the private vehicle using hydraulic tools.
After completing the operations, rescue forces were forced to declare the driver dead at the scene.
Shai Schlesinger and Yechiel Stern, United Hatzalah paramedics who arrived first at the scene: "This is an accident involving a car and a bus. With the assistance of additional paramedics, we performed CPR on the driver of the car, who is about 30 years old, but unfortunately he was pronounced dead at the scene due to the nature of the severe injuries he suffered. Fire crews were on scene due to the nature of the incident.".
The bus driver was slightly injured and was taken to Ziv Hospital in Safed for medical treatment.
The police said that a report was received about a traffic accident between a private vehicle and a bus on Route 89 - between the Meron junction and the Ein Zeitim junction. As a result of the accident, a 34-year-old man in the private vehicle was pronounced dead, and the bus driver was evacuated in minor condition.
Police officers and traffic accident investigators from the Israel Police are investigating the circumstances of the accident and directing traffic at the scene.
Fire and rescue services urged the public to drive carefully and adjust their speed to weather and visibility conditions.
