How many ultra-Orthodox brigades have been added to the army? This is what happens when you work in a predatory manner

A sane person, who looks at the conduct of the legal system and of elements in politics, the media, and academia, towards the Haredi public, must choose between two options: either this is a collection of people who understand absolutely nothing about dealing with a public that has faith and adheres to its own values; or these people actually do understand where this path leads, and that is exactly what they want – the explosion.

It's so easy to shout 'Conscription Law for Everyone.' But wait, we don't need to enact any such law, because it already exists. This is exactly the situation in recent years, since the High Court of Justice annulled the law that regulated the status of Torah students. Following the annulment of the law, the 'Conscription Law for Everyone' came into effect. All yeshiva students have become criminals, and the military police are capturing 'deserters.'.

And what is the result? How many ultra-Orthodox brigades were added to the army? The data is known – recruitment rates have decreased, not increased. Because this is what happens when you work with predation, inconsideration, and a lack of sensitivity.

When there is no responsibility

These factors see the data, and instead of drawing the obvious conclusion that a different path must be taken, they decide that what does not work by force will work by more force. Does anyone remember in this week's parsha, who decided that the solution to the cry of pain is to make the burden even heavier?

And if the crisis related to the yeshiva students wasn't enough, the High Court of Justice comes along and decides to harm educational institutions, and in fact, the ability to pay salaries to thousands of teachers. This is what happens when you can sit comfortably on high chairs, speak in beautiful and respectful words, and when there is no responsibility for the destructive results.

And you ask yourself, where do you want to get to? Will increasing the feelings of pain and resentment among the Haredi public strengthen the partnership in the life of the country and advance any positive processes? It is clear that the result will be destructive, because the Haredi public is not going anywhere, but with predatory behavior, the doors are closed to real dialogue that can promote solutions.

House arsonists

Alongside this, wild incitement is taking place towards the public, using truly anti-Semitic expressions. If a public figure were to utter such expressions towards the Arab public, he would be denounced as a blatant racist, and perhaps even prosecuted. But the blood of ultra-Orthodox Jews has become immaterial, and their honor has been trampled on. You can say whatever you want about them and remain enlightened and 'loving people,' so to speak.

Respectable media outlets are not ashamed to provide a platform for blatant incitement against an entire public. Politicians ride the wave of hatred for the ultra-Orthodox. Editors, who monitor online comments and take care not to immediately approve or delete any inflammatory statements against Arabs, approve or do not delete shocking and downright anti-Semitic comments against the ultra-Orthodox.

There is only one explanation for this terrible distortion – politics. There is nothing substantive here, but rather a desire to overthrow the government by igniting hatred towards one of its components. For this, it is permissible to burn down the house, tear society apart, and make one part of the people hate another. But the Torah has already promised: "And as they afflict him, so he will multiply and so he will break out"!
