The main recruitment day for the December-January cycle for the designated tracks for members of the Haredi public in the IDF took place today (Monday) and yesterday.

This is the largest dedicated recruitment day to date, with 537 soldiers joining the service, 230 of whom are combatants and 307 are combat support personnel in a wide variety of roles. The recruitment will be completed in the coming days.

The head of the Human Resources Division, Major General Dado Bar Khalifa, visited the Tel Hashomer recruitment office yesterday and spoke with the new recruits about the significance of combat service and the contribution to the country's security.

Major General Dado Bar Khalifa: "Thirty years ago I sat here myself, in the exact chair you are sitting in, with the same apprehension that accompanies you at the beginning of the new chapter in your lives. You are going to do great things for the security of the people of Israel and the state. We have an opportunity to change and fix, but there is one thing we will stand by and not compromise on - to allow you to fulfill your duty to defend the state while preserving your Torah world and the spirit of Halacha.".

""Operational necessity requires us to fill the ranks. You are pioneers and many more will come after you.".

The data indicates the IDF's ongoing effort to expand the scope of recruitment from among the ultra-Orthodox public, including through expanding existing tracks, establishing new designated frameworks, holding exposure and information conferences, and making adjustments to training and during service.

The IDF claims that the new soldiers were assigned to a variety of units that allow for meaningful service while fully maintaining their lifestyle.
