A new Haredi move? 'The 'Committee for the Sanctity of the Sabbath,' of which former minister MK Yitzhak Goldknopf is also a member, is expected to convene after a long period of not meeting, to decide on a series of significant steps against "Sabbath desecrations.".

The committee has had a number of successful struggles: among other things, it has previously led to the cessation of El Al's Shabbat flights, and the closure of the 'Shafa Shuk' chain, along with other businesses that operated on Shabbat and also appealed to the Haredi public.

According to a report on Channel 13, the committee is expected to make decisions on three main axes:

The first - a struggle to stop Shabbat flights by Israir and Arkia, a move that could shake up the Israeli aviation industry and place the companies under significant political and public pressure.

According to the report, committee members are putting pressure on the management of Israir - the airline owned by businessmen Rami Levy and Shalom Haim, and the second largest in Israel - to cease all of its operations on Shabbat, including the operation of chartered aircraft.

The second - intensifying the boycott of businesses operating on Shabbat and at the same time operating within the Haredi market, through campaigns, public calls, and coordinated economic measures.

The third - blocking the communications law promoted by Communications Minister Shlomo Kari, due to a section that expands sports broadcasts on Shabbat.
