What do Israelis think about Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's pardon request? A special survey conducted by the Direct Polls Institute headed by Zuriel Sharon, published this evening (Sunday) on the i24 channel, shows that 25% of opposition voters said they were in favor.

Survey participants were asked whether they were for or against granting a pardon to the Prime Minister - and the results show that approximately 541% of the total population is in favor of granting a pardon, 451% responded that they are against it, and 11% said they have no position on the issue.

However, when analyzing the results by coalition and opposition camps, it can be seen that the two camps are in complete opposition to each other - 81% of coalition voters said they were in favor of amnesty, while only 25% of opposition voters said they were in favor.

Voters in the sample were also asked whether granting a pardon should be conditional on the prime minister admitting guilt and expressing remorse. Here too, opinions appear to be relatively divided across the population, with 48% responding in favor, 49% opposing, and 3% with no position on the issue.

A breakdown by coalition and opposition camps shows that 181% of coalition voters responded in favor, while 80% of opposition voters said they were in favor.

In another question, respondents were asked to indicate whether they would support or oppose President Herzog's granting of the pardon if Netanyahu retired from public life.

47% of the total population said they would support it, while 50% said they would oppose it. 3% said they had no position on the issue.

In this case too, a relative consensus could be seen among the coalition and opposition camps, with 80% of opposition voters compared to 17% of coalition voters supporting the condition.

The sample was collected and compiled by Direct Polls Ltd., headed by Tzuriel Sharon, for the i24NEWS channel, on November 30, 2025, using a digital system combined with a panel, among 500 adult respondents (18+) who constitute a representative sample of the general population in Israel. The statistical sampling error is ±4.4% with a probability of 95%.
