The Nahal Brigade's combat team continues this morning (Wednesday) the hunt for terrorists trapped in a tunnel in eastern Rafah, in the 'Yellow Line' area, which is under Israeli control.

During the operation, IDF surveillance identified six terrorists who apparently emerged from the tunnel. The terrorists attempted to flee the scene, but an IAF aircraft attacked them under the direction of the forces. The IDF confirmed that "a hit was detected.".

According to a report by Hillel Biton Rosen on Channel 14, at the end of the hunt for the 6 terrorists - four were eliminated, two surrendered and were captured.

The terrorists were armed, and one of them may have been a senior terrorist.

The forces continue to conduct extensive searches in the area, as part of the operation to locate additional terrorist infrastructures and remove an immediate threat.

An IDF spokesperson said: "IDF forces in the Southern Command are deployed in the area in accordance with the agreement and will continue to act to remove any immediate threat.".

Last night, the IDF announced the elimination of five additional terrorists who were hiding in a tunnel in the Rafah area. Documentation published by the IDF after the elimination shows weapons found on the terrorists' bodies - including Kalashnikov rifles and ammunition magazines.

Last Saturday, the IDF announced that at least 17 terrorists who tried to escape from the Rafah tunnels were eliminated or arrested.
