
The IDF killed Hezbollah Chief of Staff Ali Tabatabaei this afternoon (Sunday) in an unusual airstrike carried out in the heart of the Dahiyya neighborhood in Beirut, the capital of Lebanon.
The Chief of Staff commanded the IDF attack on Dahiyeh from the high command post at the 'Kriya' base, together with the head of the Operations Division, Major General Itzik Cohen, the head of the Operations Brigade, Brigadier General Israel Shomer, the head of the Operations Brigade, Brigadier General Manny Liberty, and other commanders.
Zamir said: "We attacked the most senior commander in the terrorist organization Hezbollah. The attack was intended to prevent the organization from strengthening and to target those who try to harm the State of Israel.".
""The IDF continues to be committed to the understandings agreed upon between the State of Israel and Lebanon, but we will not allow the terrorist organization Hezbollah to strengthen and rearm, and we will work to remove any threat to the citizens of the State of Israel.".
