Last Monday, the Ministry of Health announced a temporary closure order for the Rami Levy branch in the mall at 4 Fliman Street, Haifa, due to serious sanitation deficiencies.
This evening (Wednesday), the Ministry of Health sent a new message, updating that the administrative order has been canceled.
A statement from the ministry said: "On November 19, 2025, an additional inspection was conducted at the business in question by environmental health inspectors in our office. This inspection found that the material deficiencies that were the reason for issuing the order had been corrected. In light of this, the danger to public health was removed.".
The original order stated that cockroaches were found in the vegetable sales area, walking among the produce displayed for sale. In the entrance to the vegetable room, rat droppings were discovered on the work table, although it was claimed at the hearing that the table had been cleaned. Inside the vegetable room itself, rat droppings were also found in the refrigeration room.
It also emerged that the vegetable display refrigerator is dirty, and some of the baskets intended for selling vegetables are rusty and the coating is peeling off.
