The coalition is preparing for the next phase: Ministers were informed today (Wednesday) that a government meeting will be held on December 4, 2025, at which the 2026 state budget will be approved.

This is the last state budget for the current government, with the next elections expected to be held on October 27, 2026.

The state budget is considered an Achilles' heel, since failure to pass it results in an early dissolution of the Knesset.

Passing the upcoming budget may be particularly difficult: the Haredi boycott surrounding the conscription law still continues, while each party will try to maximize achievements at the expense of the budget - which will lead to conflicts and crises.

Only recently was a similar crisis averted, when at the end of last September the government succeeded in passing the "security box" – an expansion of the state budget in accordance with security needs.
