'The affair of the leaked video from the Yemeni field: Chief Military Attorney Yifat Tomer Yerushalmi was actively involved in leaking the materials from the affair.
According to a report by Doron Kadosh, the military correspondent for Galei Tzahal, the investigation materials clearly indicate that the MPA was the one who ordered the leak of investigation materials from the affair - and was informed in advance, many hours before publication, of the intention to leak the video itself.
According to the report, the MPA cooperated with the leak - and was fully involved in it.
Kadosh adds: "It is important to note - the leak itself is not the problem. As a journalist, I will always support leaks, even from within the army. The problem: the fact that the Attorney General ordered an internal investigation at the Attorney General's Office to 'investigate the leak', and appointed her deputy to investigate the issue - this when she herself knows full well how the video was leaked, and even provided false reports on the subject (allegedly) to entities such as the High Court of Justice and the Knesset.".
According to the report in the IDF, Chief of Staff Eyal Zamir decided that the deputy MAG will not be appointed as the acting MAG - until a legal opinion is received from the Legal Advisor to the Government.
Yesterday, the IDF announced the opening of a criminal investigation into the leak of the video, including an examination of possible involvement of elements in the Military Prosecutor's Office. This comes about a month after the Prosecutor's Office informed the High Court of Justice that an investigation would not be opened in the case.
The Chief Military Prosecutor was placed on leave until the investigation is completed.
Recently, a covert criminal investigation by the police has been underway. The investigation has led to a development that allegedly links elements of the Chief Military Attorney's Office to the leaking of the video. The investigation is being conducted by the Israel Police with the assistance of the State Attorney's Office.
