Naftali Bennett's X account was hacked this afternoon (Saturday).

After the hack, the account published a suspicious post that included a malicious link, allegedly introducing a new news app.

The post was quickly identified and deleted, but was republished and deleted again a short time later.

The post reads: "The Israel News app is now available - download it and share it with your friends. Exclusive to Israelis. Currently only available on Windows.".

The link that appeared in the post led to the download of a file to the computer, which according to initial assessments is a virus or malicious software aimed at harming users.

This is not the first time Bennett's account has been hacked: in 2020, his Twitter account was hacked and pro-Palestinian and pro-Turkish posts were published, including PLO and Turkish flags.

At that time, the hack was short-lived and the account was quickly returned to his control.
