During the votes that took place this (Wednesday) afternoon in the Knesset plenum on the appointment of Minister Haim Katz to the position of Minister of Housing, MK Zvi Sukkot of Religious Zionism chose to include a personal and special moment.

On the plenary stage, in the presence of Deputy Speaker of the Knesset MK Moshe Solomon, MK Sukkot concluded the tractate "Parenthood" and the "Seder Nezikin", reading aloud the traditional "Hadran Alech" in front of the Knesset members present in the plenary - and broadcast live on Knesset Channel.

The tractate that MK Sukkot studied is part of the daily Daf Yomi study, which he regularly follows every evening without a break.

""The Babylonian Talmud has everything. From laws and legends to stories, worldviews and philosophy," began MK Sukkot. "According to Maimonides, this is the last document on which all Jews agreed, and who knows better than us how difficult it is to bring about agreement among all Jews.".

""I am standing here now on the occasion of the end of the Seder Nezikin and the beginning of the Seder Kodshim as part of the study of the Daf Yomi. Just one page a day. It really is not difficult and believe me, I know quite a few people with busy schedules who manage to study the Daf Yomi every day. It is challenging but worth every minute.".

He added: "The Gemara says that the residents of the Beit Midrash were satisfied with who was better - was it Rabbi Zira, who was harsh and strict and always knew how to challenge the system in order to refine it, or Rabbi bar Rav Matana, who was moderate and incisive.".

MK Sukkot explained the Gemara's words to those present: "That is, one who knows how to systematically bring conclusions and results, and within this balance between the need to refine and challenge versus the need to reach conclusions, the Gemara chooses to remain in the draw and thus end the order of damages.".

""I will teach you the ways of parenthood and the way of justice, and I will teach you the ways of parenthood and the way of justice, and I will teach you the ways of parenthood. I will not forsake you the ways of parenthood and the way of justice, and I will not forsake you, not in ignorance of the law, and not in ignorance of the knowledge." (3 times)
