Google is developing a pill that will allow for early detection of cancer and other diseases, as well as early detection of the possibility of a heart attack.
Andrew Conrad, head of life sciences at Google X (Google's ambitious venture for advanced developments in various fields), revealed the discovery yesterday (Tuesday) at a press conference. According to him, the company uses nanotechnology that combines magnetic material with proteins.
The idea is that people will take the pill and use Google's wearable technology on their bodies. The pill will transmit information to that device, allowing the customer to see if they have any health problems at an early stage.
Google calls the project the "Nanoparticle Platform." According to Conrad, "The goal of Google X is to take big problems and find solutions to them, and one of the problems we decided to attack is disease.".
Conrad said Google will explore collaborations with other healthcare companies, but did not specify when the technology would mature and reach the market.
