US President Donald Trump responded this evening (Thursday) to a report in the New York Times, according to which he blocked an Israeli plan to attack Iran's nuclear sites.
""I wouldn't say I prevented an attack, I'm just not in a hurry to do it. I think Iran has the invitations to be a great country and live happily ever after," Trump said. "That's the first option. The second option would be very bad for Iran and I think they want to talk.".
He reiterated: "Iran cannot possess nuclear weapons. It's very simple.".
The American president added: "The agreement signed under Obama was supposed to expire now, and it was a terrible agreement. It gave Iran a clear path to develop nuclear weapons. I would not accept that - so I canceled it. Canceling the agreement was a great step, because if it had ended - we would not have been able to do anything against Iran.".
