An exciting situation at the Tel Aviv Municipality: The Lubavitcher Rebbe's emissaries and Chabad house activists from all neighborhoods of Tel Aviv-Jaffa were invited by the Tel Aviv Municipality to the 12th floor of the city building, to the conference hall in the Mayor's Office, for the annual greeting event for Chabad emissaries in the city, in honor of the Rebbe's 123rd birthday, which will fall tonight, the 11th of Nissan.

The event was also honored with the presence of friends of Chabad in Tel Aviv and senior officials in the City Council and the Mayor's Office, who engage in full cooperation with the emissaries and the Chabad Center throughout the year.

The moderator, Rabbi Menachem Gerlitzky, a shliach in the new northern neighborhoods of the city, spoke about the major initiatives of the central Chabad house in the city, headed by the shliach Rabbi Yosef Shmuel Gerlitzky, which later expanded and became a model for imitation in Chabad houses throughout the country and the world.

The blessing of the municipality and the mayor was conveyed by Deputy and Acting Mayor, Assaf Zamir, who served as acting mayor at the time of the ceremony, due to Mayor Ron Huldai's trip abroad.

"Every day and everywhere I see and appreciate from the bottom of my heart your dedicated activity," said Zamir. "Despite the complex times that Israeli society is going through, every messenger manages to be loved by all the residents of his neighborhood, of all types and opinions."

The chief emissary, Rabbi Gerlitzky, repeated the Torah readings in the city hall's conference hall and wished the emissaries in the words the Rebbe wrote to him in his own handwriting: "May he continue to preach the good news with joy and exalted spirit."

The prayer section was entrusted to a member of the Chabad Center's management, Rabbi Avraham Shmuel Levin Cohen. The music and singing were accompanied by the Hasidic violinist Rabbi Mordechai Brotzky and the musician - the emissary Rabbi Yoel Rosen.

Rabbi Gerlitzky, together with the shluchim organizers, Rabbi Yitzhak Bir and Rabbi Yitzhak Lefkebaker, distributed personal gifts to all shluchim in the city and 'Matzah Shmore' kits to all municipal employees.
