The Yaniv family, the family of Hillel and Gal Yaniv, launched a moving and special music video tonight (Tuesday) in honor of Purim - marking two years since the murder of their eldest son.
In the clip, family members and friends sing Purim prayer songs, to express the great longing on the one hand, and on the other hand, to fulfill the boys' unwritten will, to continue to rejoice.
It includes recordings of Hillel and Weigel sharing the joy of Purim.
The clip was filmed at the site of the attack in Huwara, at the observatory they built in their memory in the settlement of Har Bracha, and at the Yaniv family home in the settlement.
The message the family attached to the clip reads:
""Two years?"
Two years already?
How about two years?
The month of Adar is a month full of joy in our family.
A month that we have always loved. That we will always love.
And then the murder. And how do we continue? And what do we do with Purim?
Purim is like Yom Kippur. How holy.
How much power do prayers have?.
And what a testament Hillel and Weigel left us, an unwritten but present will, that they would surely want us to be happy on Purim.
So we took two Purim prayer songs.
May my soul be given to me at my request and my people at my request.
And another prayer.
May He perform wonderful and terrible miracles with us,
Miracles of Purim.
And a request from the King of kings,
May he show us the way to begin in terms of the sanctity of Purim.
And after a year and a half of war,
And a deal whose results are unclear,
and funerals of returned abductees,
We need to remember that even when God hides His face from us,
He has significant behind-the-scenes action.
And we need to know,
That despite all the difficulties,
We are part of a generation of redemption.
Part of a generation of great people.
That despite all the difficulties and all the obstacles,
Learning to rejoice on Purim.
