About a month ago, during a demonstration by ultra-Orthodox youths outside the Tel Hashomer recruitment office, a woman immodestly confronted them, and in her actions she committed harassment - with the aim of humiliating and demeaning the protesters.
Five Stars: A Passover vacation like never before in the ultra-Orthodox sector
In light of the seriousness of the act, the Yehudit organization filed a complaint with the police, along with documentation.
Last night, despite the numerous requests and the demand for time for investigation, the police decided to close the case.
Moriah Litvak, CEO of Yehudit - A Women's Rights Organization with a Jewish Spirit, said: "If it were about adult minors from state education who were harassed by an ultra-Orthodox man during a demonstration, I am sure that the police would use all the means at their disposal, identify the perpetrator and bring him in for questioning. The decision to close the case constitutes a grave disgrace and encourages the recurrence of such cases.".
""In light of this, we filed an appeal to close the case.".
The appeal states:
""On 1/30/2025, the CM filed a complaint with the police for harassment of minors, an indecent act in public and harming religious feelings. A situation in which an adult woman stands in public in front of Haredi minors... with the aim of humiliating and degrading them is unacceptable. This cannot be allowed to become an issue without the intervention of the authorities concerned.".
""I will remind you that on 8/25/2023, a protester... in front of a Haredi man in Bnei Brak. A day after the incident, I filed a complaint with the police, but the offender was not taken in for questioning. It seems
Because there are those who drew inspiration from and imitated the despicable act.
""Imagine for a moment a group of minors who have graduated from state education who are sitting on the road during a demonstration and suddenly an ultra-Orthodox man arrives... I'm sure in this case the police
She would use all the means at her disposal and summon him for questioning, or even worse.
""Therefore, this appeal is filed in accordance with the accepted practice. Please make every effort, use all means at your disposal to identify criminals, and arrest the despicable woman before harassment becomes a significant part of the demonstrations in Israel.".
In addition, the organization appealed to the chairman of the National Security Committee, MK Boaz Bismut, with a request to "intervene and order that the criminal be brought to justice.".
