Former Minister of National Security, MK Itamar Ben-Gvir, said this evening (Wednesday), in an interview with the program 'Seven with Ayala Hasson' on 'Kan News', that he is in contact with the police officers with whom he worked before retiring from the position. "They have entered my heart," he explained.
He said he would be happy to return to serve as a minister - "but only on the condition that we go to overthrow the Hamas regime. For me, principles are more important than anything.".
Regarding President Trump's statements tonight that the United States will take over Gaza, he said: "I was elated. So many times in the past year I have said 'encouraging immigration.' They said I was delusional and messianic. And here today the president of the greatest power in the world is saying this.".
Regarding the evacuation of Gazans from the Strip, Ben Gvir said: "This is truly the moral, logical, correct and normal solution to what is happening in Gaza. On the political level, I hope it brings me closer to the government. I haven't taken off the ministerial suit and put it on yet, but there is no doubt that if there is truly a desire, there is sincerity, there will be moves to implement it, I am fully committed.".
Regarding the hostage deal with Hamas, for which he resigned from the government, he said: "We received the release of murderous terrorists and we know that they will return to murder. There is no Hamas presence in Gaza. We see them with their vans, with their SUVs and with all their equipment. I say this most clearly: This deal is a bad deal.".
Itamar Ben Gvir to@AyalaHasson On the Trump plan: "It's exciting, it's the moral, logical and correct solution for Gaza. On the political level, I hope it brings me closer to the government. ""I was just as moved as any Israeli when I saw the pictures of the kidnapped ones who were returned," Ben Gvir said. But he added: "The release of the murderers could lead us to another October 7, and then there will be more murdered people, more people who will be abused, and more girls who will be kidnapped. I'm worried about all of Israel here.".
On ending the war: "If we go with Trump's move, which is more right-wing than the move I talked about, there is no doubt that it can lead to a solution. It is a very brave move, and there is no doubt that it can lead to the end of the war. I certainly accept that, but I say to Prime Minister Netanyahu - we must not miss it, it must be implemented now. If you implement it, I am with you completely.".
