Caregiver at 'Amunah' daycare center in Neve Yaakov charged with 12 assaults on toddlers

The State Attorney's Office filed an indictment today (Monday) with the Jerusalem Magistrate's Court against Zehava Tzarfati, a 63-year-old Jerusalem resident, for serious assault on toddlers while she worked as a caregiver at a daycare center run by the 'Amona' chain in the Neve Yaakov neighborhood in Jerusalem.

The indictment accuses the defendant of committing 12 offenses of aggravated assault.

According to the indictment, filed through attorney Hani Shapira of the Jerusalem District Attorney's Office, in June 2023, the defendant attacked several toddlers who were in the daycare, aged one and a half to two years, who were under her responsibility.

Over the course of one day, the defendant acted violently, including hitting toddlers, forcibly dragging them and slamming them onto a mattress.
