The health condition of Asma al-Assad, the wife of ousted Syrian President Bashar al-Assad, who is suffering from leukemia, has worsened, and doctors are giving her a 501/3 chance of survival, the British Telegraph reported tonight (Wednesday).

Assad announced last May that she had leukemia, about five years after suffering from gynecological cancer from which she recovered.

According to the report, she is in isolation in Moscow, away from other people, to prevent infection. Her father, Fawaz Akhars, who is caring for his daughter in Moscow, is "heartbroken" by the situation.

A source who has been in contact with the Assad family recently said: "Asma is dying. She cannot be in the same room with anyone because of her condition." Another source, who has been in contact with the family in Moscow, said: "When leukemia comes back, it's cruel.".

The report comes amid reports that she is tired of the restrictions imposed on her in Moscow and that she is interested in being treated in London, since she is a Syrian-British citizen.

In addition, it was reported in recent days that she wanted to get a divorce and return to her parents' home in Britain - where she could receive treatment in British hospitals.

However, British Foreign Secretary David Lammy was reluctant for her to return to the kingdom and said that he did not want to see her in Britain again.
