'The faltering 'Hasmonaean Brigade': About six months ago, a meeting was held between Major General David Zini - Commander of the Training and Education Command and Commander of the General Staff Corps, and members of the Haredi administration in the IDF and officials related to Haredi recruitment.
According to a report by Kobi Dahan, the religion correspondent for the i24news channel, during the meeting, Major General Zini told the members of the Haredi administration that he did not want them to interfere in bringing the young Haredi people to the new Haredi brigade.
He added and claimed: "I know how to bring them myself.".
Despite this, sources involved in the events in the Haredi brigade told i24news that the commander of the Haredi brigade, Colonel Avinoam Emunah, met with members of the Haredi administration and said: "The brigade is ready, but I only managed to bring 12 Haredi soldiers.".
In other words, he admitted to abject failure.
Major General David Zini thought he knew how to bring Haredim into the army, then admitted it didn't work. Kobi Dahan with the first publication of what is happening in the new Haredi brigade

Now, after a six-month break between the parties, they are starting to work together to try and bring young Haredi people to the new division.
As part of the IDF's attempt to entice ultra-Orthodox soldiers to enlist, a mikveh is currently being built at the base where the ultra-Orthodox brigade is expected to be located. All so that the ultra-Orthodox soldiers will come.
Despite everything - at least right now they are not coming, certainly not in the numbers that the IDF wants to see.
As revealed this week in Haredim 10, There are a number of 'mines' in the commitment form that the soldiers will sign.
