A computer glitch hit various systems across Israel this morning (Friday) - including the Ministry of Health, 15 medical centers, health funds, the electricity company, banks, Israel Post, and more - along with airlines, ports - and a television network.

An initial investigation indicates that the compromised system is CrowdStrike EDR, which is supposed to protect large systems from cyberattacks.

The Ministry of Health updated that "a widespread global malfunction in computer servers is affecting hospitals and other health services. It should be noted that this is not a cyber attack but a malfunction in one of the programs that leads to the downfall of servers and computers. The ministry is working with the global company to quickly address the malfunction."

After 11:00, Shaare Zedek returned to full function.

In addition to hospitals, the system failure affects other emergency agencies in the country, including fire departments. The Israel Electric Company reports that it is not possible to contact the 103 hotlines. In emergencies only, you can report via the Israel Electric Company's Facebook page.

The computer glitch is also affecting, among other things, the systems at Ben Gurion Airport as well as airports in the United States, where delays and flight cancellations have been recorded, after the US Federal Aviation Administration has suspended many flights due to communication problems.

As a result, all flights of major American airlines, including Delta, United, and American Airlines, were grounded.

According to the National Cyber Command, this is a global technical glitch that affects many technological systems around the world, and that the phenomenon is not unique to Israel. It was also noted that the technology company CrowdStrike issued a technical alert this morning regarding a "significant problem" affecting Windows systems around the world.
