Google's ambitious project in the phone channel is finally underway: Google announced a target date for the launch of the Google Are device, and presented the device's structure in general terms.
Google Are is a modular mobile device consisting of a separate board and interchangeable magnetic components.
The big advantage: No more replacing a device for every crack in the screen, or following a processor update. The endless friction with the phone companies' repair labs may also end: Is a certain component in the device malfunctioning? It can be replaced quickly without having to disassemble the device.
The phone project had already begun at Motorola, but remained with Google even after Motorola was sold to Lenovo. The announcement of a target date indicates that Google has apparently found solutions to the acute problems that have so far hindered the project's continued development, the most acute of which is the need to adapt the operating system to the changing parts - an action currently being taken by the companies that manufacture the device.
And how much will it cost us? The starting price of the device will be 50$ for the body of the device. The payment will also include WiFi connectivity. Any additional part such as a screen, or communication functions will cost an additional price depending on the quality, density, size, type of connectivity, and other parameters according to the customer's wishes.
