An extensive enforcement operation by the Bnei Brak police, in conjunction with civilian elements, was conducted yesterday (Wednesday) at a residential and business complex that was operating illegally in the city of Bnei Brak.
Starting this morning, police forces and civilian enforcement agencies raided several business complexes that had encroached on public land in the area bordering Highway 4 - an area of approximately 60 dunams, between Shaul Hadad Street and Meshulam Rat Street in Bnei Brak. This was a second wave and a continuation of a combined forces operation that took place in July of last year.
During the operation, mapping activities were carried out by the Israel Land Authority - for issuing demolition orders in the future, and a warning was also given to evacuate the area in the event of a recent invasion.
The Land Enforcement Authority issued a fine report to the business in the amount of NIS 600,000, for failure to vacate the land in accordance with a notice given in the past, as well as issuing notices to additional businesses that encroached on public land.
The police issued a warning to the business in the complex - before taking any action and requesting a closure order. The same business was issued a stop work order by the Ministry of Labor - Labor Branch, for serious safety deficiencies.
The Ministry of Transportation's Garage Supervision has opened another investigation into the documentation of the Tsma'a garage as a garage operating to repair tires, without a Ministry of Transportation license and without a valid business license.
Inspectors from the Ministry of Energy's Gas Safety Directorate confiscated approximately 30 gas cylinders from some of the businesses and residential complexes operating in the complex, which contains gas cylinders from pirate businesses not supervised by the Ministry of Energy, endangering those in the businesses as well as those living in the residential complexes adjacent to them.
The operation was attended by police officers from the Bnei Brak-Ramat Gan station, the Bnei Brak municipal policing unit and the licensing officers, along with the Tel Aviv District Police, the Tel Aviv District Attorney's Office, the Ministry of Transportation - Supervision of Garages, the Israel Land Authority, the Land Enforcement Authority, the Ministry of Labor - Labor Branch, the Ministry of Energy - Gas Safety Administration, the Ministry of Agriculture - Cracking Unit, Veterinary Services - Association of Cities and National Insurance.
