Sergeant Nadav Cohen, 20, from Haifa, a fighter in the 77th Battalion, fell in battle in the southern Gaza Strip.
Since the outbreak of the war, the names of 600 IDF martyrs have been allowed to be published.
Giora Smolensky, Nadav's class teacher, said goodbye to him: "Our Nadav. What a person has left us, the magic boy of the class. The captivating smile and the endless giving. Always the first to volunteer, to raise his head, to lead processes, to serve as a personal example. He always took part in the class discourse and always in such a valuable way. I don't know how I got to know such a special person.".

Last night it was announced that Maj. Gen. Sivan Weil, 20, from Ra'anana, a fighter in the Egoz unit of the commando formation, died of his wounds after being injured on Friday in battle in the southern Gaza Strip.
He left behind his parents, who immigrated from France in 1998, two brothers and a sister.
Weil was killed in the same battle in which Major General Alon Kudryashov, 21, from Modi'in, also a fighter in the Egoz unit, was killed.
In the fierce battle, another 16 fighters were injured - as a result of RPG fire on a structure where the force was staying - including six of the unit's fighters.
