Media personality Ben Caspit revealed today (Wednesday), during a broadcast on 103FM radio with his colleague Yinon Magal, that he had previously been offered the position of Israeli consul in New York.
Caspit, who previously served as a Maariv correspondent in New York, noted that he gave up the position after preferring to remain in journalism.
""I was offered to be consul in New York. Some foreign minister who wasn't Lieberman offered me the job, a long time ago, many years ago. I didn't take it because I'm a journalist, born and will die.".
He claimed: "Consul in New York is the big prize. There's only one thing better - consul of the European Union. And then you go around all over Europe and do nothing.".
Yinon Magal responded: "You're slaving away on New York at a job with an apartment and a car. Consul is just cocktails and stuff.".
