Josh Breiner, police and criminal reporter for Haaretz newspaper, was promoted yesterday (Tuesday) to the rank of major, as part of his reserve service.
When are the municipal elections? Where can I find out if I am registered on the voter register?
Breiner serves as a 'casualty informant'.
Journalist Ofra Lex of Besheva, who lost her son Neve in battles in the Gaza Envelope, congratulated Breiner on receiving the rank - and revealed on her Twitter account: "Josh was the one who knocked on our door and announced that our Neve had been killed. Thanks to him and the officer who was with him (whose name I unfortunately don't remember) we managed to get through that difficult evening.
""Such a gentle and thoughtful accompaniment, words in the right place and in the right dosage, and infinite gentleness. May you be blessed Josh, may you be blessed with only good news, may God reward you with your good. Thank you.".
Breiner replied to her: "I have no words, Ofra. You will always be in my heart.".
