פעוט בן שנתיים נרצח הבוקר (חמישי)באירוע אלימות מזעזע שהתרחש ברחוב חללי אגוז בעיר לוד - לאחר שצעיר עבר במקום ודקר את הפעוט בראשו. .
הפעוט פונה לבית החולים שמיר-אסף הרופא בצריפין כשמצבו אנוש, אולם למרבה הצער לאחר פעולות החייאה נקבע מותו.
המשטרה פתחה בחקירה. הרקע לרצח והנסיבות בבדיקה.
החשוד ברצח נעצר על ידי השוטרים סמוך לזירה ונלקח לחקירה. בהמשך הוא יובא לדיון בבקשה להאריך את מעצרו, לצד בקשת אבחון גורמי מקצוע.
במשטרה ציינו בהודעה הראשונית כי הגבר שנעצר הוא אב התינוק, אך דקות לאחר מכן עדכנו כי אין קשר משפחתי בין הפעוט לדוקר.
פרמדיק מד"א משה גלבשטיין סיפר: "הגענו למקום במהירות וחברנו לכוחות המשטרה שהובילו אותנו אל התינוק שהיה מחוסר הכרה וסבל מפציעות חודרות בגופו. מיד התחלנו בביצוע פעולות החייאה שכללו עצירת דימומים ותוך כדי הטיפול הרפואי העלנו אותו לניידת טיפול נמרץ של מד"א ופינינו אותו לבית החולים כשמצבו אנוש תוך כדי פעולות החייאה".
Lod Mayor Yair Revivo wrote on his Facebook account: "A tragedy today in Lod. A young man, mentally unstable, who claimed to have heard a mysterious voice speaking to him, ran amok, towards a baby stroller in the shopping center in the Ganei Aviv neighborhood, and stabbed him to death in front of his mother. The suspect was immediately arrested.
""This is a terrible tragedy and we are accompanying the family, who only immigrated to Israel from the former Soviet Union this year, during this difficult time. May God help us during this period when there is a worrying increase in cases of mental problems as a result of the anxiety of the war. Please report to us any person who is behaving strangely so that we can assist and save them and those around them.".
Volunteers from Unit 360 from the Lod branch were dispatched to the scene of a murder in the city, where a two-year-old toddler was stabbed to death. The volunteers are working at the scene to collect the evidence, and will accompany the family as necessary.
