Dr. Ziad Al-Ali of the University of Washington, who led the study, says: "We are going to emerge from this pandemic as a much sicker nation than we knew, because of heart problems related to the virus. The health problems we will suffer from will probably resonate for generations.".
He said, "Deaths from heart attacks have increased during the coronavirus pandemic and now we see them. Heart disease has long been the leading killer in the United States and around the world.
