Is the pizza fake? Neria Kraus, a correspondent for News 13 in the US, caused a stir yesterday after complaining on her Twitter account that "Urdu on the flight right now are trying to move me from seat to seat because I'm a woman," and she even noted that the flight crew was furious with her and threatened that the flight would not depart for its destination because of her.
Riddle: Which flavor of 'Milky' delicacy is the best-selling after 40 years?
The journalist's tweets were not accompanied by video documentation proving the claims.
However, independent blogger Daniel Amram managed to speak after landing with the passenger with whom Kraus allegedly confronted on the United Airlines flight that took off from Israel - who told a completely different story about the sequence of events.
The ultra-Orthodox passenger told Amram: "I had a hat on and when I took it off she saw my kippa. At first she was nice, but as soon as she saw the kippa she shouted at me: 'Just because I'm a woman do you want me to pass?' She shouted: 'Discrimination, discrimination.' I asked her to pass just so my son's friend could sit next to him and she got out of control." I politely told her: 'If you don't want to, you don't have to pass.'".
On his Twitter account, Amram posted a video of the passenger and wrote: "Well, ladies and gentlemen, News 13 reporter Neria Kraus said yesterday that 'the Haredim wanted her to move seats on the flight because she is a woman.' She filmed this person, who is a family man and a very well-known person in Brooklyn. Her tweet reached over a million views, as did his friends who were amazed and contacted me throughout the day: 'No way, this person hosts mixed families on Shabbat at his place,' 'He travels a lot and sits next to women, there's no way he has a problem with that.'".
He added: "So we made sure to reach him, he didn't want to bring it up at all, but after much persuasion, ladies and gentlemen, here he is telling a completely different story: It turns out that his son was with a friend, and they asked nicely if it was possible for her to move a chair, so that the friend could sit next to his friend.".
""In response, she started yelling, which caused the flight attendant to also warn her that if there's a mess here, they'll cancel the flight. In any case, listen to the guy. There are two sides to every story and every person deserves the right to respond. It should be noted that I tried to get hold of Neriah there and she didn't answer me anymore.".

Media figure Avraham Greenzig tweeted: "It sounded like a half-baked story from the start, and anyone familiar with the style of such American ultra-Orthodox people had a hard time believing it. I am not a follower of Daniel Amram, but this tweet of his must reach at least 1.5 million views like the original incitement tweet did. Share with all your might and crush fake news.".
""In a reformed world, there is no normative scenario in the Krauss and incitement story that does not end with her dismissal and a public apology by News 13 for this shocking thing.".
Media figure Manny Gira responded: "A responsible media body calls for an investigation and even suspends a reporter who was caught lying in such a serious way. The act is especially serious because it was consciously intended to incite against kippah wearers. Even though they behaved impeccably!""
As reported by Haredim 10 yesterday, Kraus - an ardent supporter of the left-wing protest - wrote yesterday alongside a photo of a father and his Haredi children sitting on a plane: "Haredi people on the flight are now trying to move me from seat to seat. Because I'm a woman. United Airlines, by the way, doesn't handle this. They tell me that because of me the flight won't take off. Shame.".
She later added and tweeted from the plane: "What a sense of humiliation that the stewardess in charge of United, an Israeli who speaks Hebrew, comes up to me and yells at me that because of me the flight will not take off. And that if they do fly, the flight will have to stop in Egypt because of me. Thank you to two men and a stunning Israeli woman next to me who supported me.".
Haredi media figure Avi Rabina responded: "Thank you for the picture. I see the pure innocence on their faces. I don't believe you. I'm on their side.".
Right-wing activist Ayelet Lash wondered: "What does it mean to try? Did they ask you politely? Did they force you? Did they try and succeed? Just tried? Is there a video? Is there documentation that non-Haredim are reading the book in circles? Is it possible that you are not lying?".
Many users asked why the camera didn't activate, an action that takes several seconds.
