The volunteers contacted the synagogue's treasurer, who reported to them another theft of equipment that occurred on Shabbat night.

The volunteers documented the theft in real time and then approached the suspects and detained them at the scene until police arrived.

During the suspects' detention, it was revealed that they also committed the theft on Saturday night. According to them, they loaded several shopping carts and carried the expensive equipment to Jabotinsky Street.

On Saturday night, they ordered a taxi to pick up the goods.

They loaded the goods stolen on Saturday night into a taxi and continued toward the synagogue in an attempt to steal more equipment. The taxi that was observed at the scene was also stopped - and the equipment was returned to the synagogue.

The suspects, in their 30s and 50s, residents of Tel Aviv, were arrested and taken for further investigation at the police station.

Later, a decision will be made whether to bring them before a judge to extend their detention.
